The Joy of Going Back to ... SCHOOL! (and actually enjoying it)

Well, Christmas has come and gone.
A time of craziness, traveling, and giving is gone. School is placed "gently" back in our laps.

I don't mind school. I was actually very excited to go back:) I know. Crazy me! I enjoy figuring out how to translate English into Latin, doing Logical equations, writing short stories, and doing my whole science fair project the day before I go back to school;)

I actually felt like something was missing when I woke up at 8:30 every morning with nothing to do. (8:30 is sleeping in for me).

Out of my 6 subjects I think Mock Trial is going to be my favorite subject this semester. Well, Mock Trial and Logic, because logic really helps to be able to argue correctly in Mock Trial.

I have the best teacher and the best tutor.

What is a tutor?? Well... I am home-schooled. Always have been and always will be. And I LOVE it. Wouldn't give it up for anything, and my parents are my teachers.

But once a week, my family does a co-op called Classical Conversations. I used to do that before I got to be old. Now I am in a older group called Challenge. The title was a little intimidating. It actually is quite fun. Anyway, our teachers there are called "tutors".

It is because our parents are our teachers. They can say whether or not you need to do that lesson of math or that science paper, because they are your teachers. They can help you day in and day out unlike my tutor whom I only see once a week.

(That is one of the reasons that I love being home-schooled. Your parents are always there for you. Whether it is school or your personal life they are waiting to talk to you.)

So anyway, every Friday I meet with my classmates and tutor. We discuss what we did over the week. We also discuss what we have to do the next week. It is the best of both worlds!

Well, I better wrap it up soon.

I will leave you with some of my favorite Bible verses.
-James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because  you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

-Psalm 32:1-2
Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose lives are lived in complete honesty.

Here is a little quote on our daily flip calender:
A Christian is the sort of person who can be asked to do whatever needs to be done without retorting, "That's not my job."
...and the verse that goes with it.
- 2 Thessalonians 3:13
"And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right."
